Some books are irreplaceable. Whether it’s a childhood favourite, a prized gift or a special edition, life without a particular copy of a great book would be a little greyer for many.

Here at World of Books, we receive a lot of feedback and messages, but this particular hand written letter caught our eye. It was from a lady called Linda, who ordered a New Orleans guide book from our website. Upon receiving her book she opened it to the first page, which revealed something she didn’t expect.

Today we are talking with the thriller writer, Roger Smith. Roger was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His thrillers Capture, Dust Devils, Wake Up Dead and Mixed Blood are published in seven languages and two are in development as movies in the US.

Grace McCleen was born in 1981 in Wales. Speaking of her childhood Grace says, “I grew up in a fundamentalist religion and didn’t have much contact with non-believers. My parents weren’t typical converts so we didn’t have much contact with other believers either. When I was ten I was taken out of school and we moved to the country [Ireland]. I spent all the time in the fields with two sheepdogs, or making things in my room”.
