As a child “The Twits” was one of my favourites. The simplicity, the writing style and the storyline stand out for me. I enjoyed the illustrations and found the book easier to follow than some of the other Roald Dahl books.
We get a lot of feedback at World of Books. Most of it positive, some of it quizzical and a few things that we probably can’t share here.
Of course, this is hardly unexpected. We sell around 6 million books a year to customers across every continent and 99% of the time everything goes swimmingly – but there are always exceptions.
Before we dive in here, it’s probably best to acknowledge that this post isn’t being written from an entirely neutral perspective. World of Books only sells second hand books, therefore an element of bias can’t be ruled out. However, even with that disclaimer, there’s still plenty to say in favour of used over new.
Here at World of Books, we receive a lot of feedback and messages, but this particular hand written letter caught our eye. It was from a lady called Linda, who ordered a New Orleans guide book from our website. Upon receiving her book she opened it to the first page, which revealed something she didn’t expect.
