Hi, I am Becky, back with another kids’ book review! Check out my last review of Night Night, Groot by Brendan Deneen. I spent a lot of time reading to my daughter to help her drift off to sleep and it has now become a part of our bedtime routine with a night-time story or three as we wind her down from her day. Personally, I loved books when I was growing up and I want her to appreciate and love them too. Today I’m reviewing another favourite, Ten Little Superheroes by Mike Brownlow, fantastically illustrated by Simon Rickerty.
Ten Little Book Series
Ten Little Superheroes was kindly gifted to us from a family friend, mainly because our household loves all things superheroes so it was the perfect little book to introduce to our little one. It is part of a lot of similar books by Mike Brownlow and Simon Rickerty, this one remains our favourite, followed by Ten Little Princesses.
The structure of these books means you start off with ten characters and they whittle their way down to one as the story progresses. It follows a counting rhythm to read along. This will help you teach your child numbers and as they grow up, they can even count many things on each page too.
“Ten little super-kids,
Mike Brownlow, Ten Little Superheroes
flying through the air,
Spot the League of Bad Guys,
plotting in their lair…”
I highly recommend these Ten Little books as they are cracking even for adults to read through. You can make all the different noises and really interact with your child, encouraging them to read along.
