Introducing Wob – New Name, Same Us!

Wob, formerly known as World of Books


We have entered a new chapter in our story: Welcome to Wob. We’re still your favourite place for pre-loved books and the latest bestsellers, but we now have a slightly different name. Books have been and will continue to be our main passion and focus, but now we have even more to explore. Have you checked out our fantastic collections of CDs, DVDs, and video games?

By changing our name to Wob, we’re keeping true to our beginnings but changing for the future. You will see some instant differences on the website and social media accounts, our emails newsletter and updates, and of course this blog.

Our packaging is changing once we have used all our current stock – that means nothing goes to waste. So, have a look around, you will find the same great reads at Wob, as well as much, much more.

    Hi – I have tried to order some books, author HE Bates, and I am unable to pay via my MasterCard. The books are still in the cart, I have rung 132221, the Commonwealth bank help number, but they said the problem is with the merchant, i.e. wob.com – could you please help by giving me an alternative method of payment, without using an internet payment.     My latest WOB order, (WGB-2111-14610980) containing two books, arrived while I was out this morning. Just as well the postie had a dry place in which to leave it, as the bag was ripped at the top. I have a photo of it but am not on social media so can only send it via email.
    Perhaps you need to use stronger bags for heavier mailings (one of my books was a big fat Russian novel).

    I recently ordered Studio EDEXCEL endorsed GCSE French Grammar & Translation Workbook, believing it to be specifically for that exam board as I am tutoring a student who is taking the Edexcel GCSE in French. I now find that the contents are IDENTICAL to those of the GCSE AQA workbook which I already have. Please may I return the ‘Edexcel’ one to you for a refund or credit note?

    Have a look at the description of the book A Time For Courage. If you have not sold many, that is why ! The book is an excellent strategic level story of the RAF in WW2. Nothing to do with the Bible !
    I will post a view of it in a few weeks when I have finished it, but can assure you of 5 stars already

    It had been tampered with and contained one wrong book.
    I received 2,024 q1 facts instead of
    ‘The king of the copper mountain’
    Which I particularly wanted

    I ordered a book The Making of Master Commander,Far Side of the World to be delivered to R M Oliver 105 Highroft Crescent Bognor Regis PO228DT. As the sender purchaser, my address is Ormsby Kingsway Avenue Woking GU21 6NX. I received an email from Royal Mail saying they ere delivering to me today. On tracking the parcel I learn it was delivered at 11.15 – but it was notdelivered. I need to know if indeed you had sent it to Mr Oliver in Bognor It was a surprise gift andI don’t want to ask him if I can avoid doing so

    Just received my latest order from Wob. As usual, the service and price are outstanding. Only one niggle, however. I received an envelope of little savings, but most expired 31/12/21. That’s a shame.

    From my most recent experience, it is clear to me that your method of packaging is insufficient to protect paperback books from the rigours of the postal system. For it is clear that mine has been damaged in transit. Am not looking for compensation etc, merely pointing out an issue which, if resolved, would enhance your otherwise excellent service.
